Permanent magnets directed in a single direction and radially directed outward/inward about an axis are commonly available features in many commercially available 3D Magnetic Field Solvers. In the 3D magnetic solver AMPERES, an additional type of permanent magnet called congruent magnet can be simulated for focusing on the magnetic fields. The geometry requirement for defining a congruent magnet is six surfaced volume and each of these six surfaces must be a four-sided surface.

In this presentation the effectiveness of the focusing of the magnetic field and thereby the increase in its attractive force on a magnetically permeable body is presented. Also, the procedure to build a congruent magnet is outlined.
