Addressing the critical need for industry standards for DFARS compliant permanent magnet supply chains

As the global critical materials and permanent magnet supply chain continues to grow and evolve in response to US DFARS compliance, the need for qualification of permanent magnets is greater now than ever before.  Downstream markets for permanent magnets beyond civilian EV's are also rapidly increasing and include the significant domestic and allied semiconductor manufacturing industry that has been spurred by investments into several hubs of activity throughout the US, including facilities in the State of Florida like NeoCity and the newly established National Science Foundation Central Florida Semiconductor Institute Engine.  Collaborative efforts spanning government and private sectors to establish and solidify industry standard qualification specifications and test methods are needed in order to maintain DFARS compliance across the rapidly expanding market demand. 

MagCorp, Applied Materials, Dexter-EEC, Lockheed Martin, Defense Logistics Agency and other key stakeholders have banded together to lead this effort and usher in a best practice solution for long term maintenance of DFARS compliance in key permanent magnet markets.
